The State Department is progressively finalizing its Draft Strategic Plan 2023-2027
The state Department takes cognisant of the guidance provided by The National Treasury & Economic Planning in preparation of its Strategic Plan and is progressively finalizing its Draft 5 year Strategic Plan which in totality defines its strategy/direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to attain strategic goals. This in addition, extends to control mechanisms for guiding the implementation of the strategy. The Strategic Plan is aligned to its mandate and mission, the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda, the overall country development agenda ,County Integrated Development Plans ; and the Constitution of Kenya (2010). This Strategic Plan will remain an important aspect of strategic management which is executed by strategic planners involving an analysis of the Department and its relationship to the environment in which it competes.
The Office of the USAID East Africa, complements this comprehensive approach that ensures the Department's Strategic Plan encompasses a wide spectrum for developmental objectives, enhancing its effectiveness and impact. In developing this plan, the Department is focusing on its mandate, recognizing its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and in consideration of the government’s development agenda.
Continuous engagement from the Departmental Team was a clear evidence towards building ownership within the State Department through direct involved in the process ranging from what the plan is, where we fit in it and how we contribute to its goals.The more reason for a beehive of discussions and internalization of the entire process in totality in addition to the most effective ways to build buy-in. This conclusively involve developing action steps and performance measures that roll-up to support the key outcomes
The fifth-generation Strategic Plan is envisioned to facilitate efficient, effective, and sustainable ways of utilization of public resources in the delivery of core services and attainment of national and international development goals.
